SRS 2008 Project Rose

Each year we select a miniature rose as our Project Rose for the year. Our members share in the fun of growing a new promising rose and to entice you to participate we include a special Project Rose Class in our June Rose Show and award a special keeper trophy for the Best Project Rose entry.

Our Project Rose for 2008 is the miniflora rose Edisto. Grower Nor'East Roses says it has "beautiful red petals with a soft yellow reverse, perfect hybrid tea form. Destined to be a classic for exhibitors and gardeners, it performs beautifully when used in beds and borders. Blooms in flushes throughout the season, flowers borne mostly solitary. Hybridizer: Michael Williams."

We have placed an order for plants which are available for our members to purchase on a “first come” basis at just $5.50 each or two for $9. The roses will be delivered in time for pickup at the May 8th meeting, however since quantities are limited I would suggest that you reserve your rose in advance by paying in full at the April meeting. Contact Murial Prianti at 676-4850 for additional information.
