On Thursday,
January 12th
our annual meeting will take place and as is customary it will be preceded at
6:30 by our annual Founders’ Day Dinner. Please bring a dish to pass and your own table service (plate, silverware).
Note that the kitchen will not be available for us, so bring dishes ready to serve.
After dinner
we will have
the election and installation of officers for 2012 by our own Ann Gibson, and
then a night of entertainment provided by the Roger Wells Barbershop Quartet.
Roger
was a lead
singer in high school chorus and school plays and has also sung solos in
various church events including weddings. His forte is barbershop close
harmony music, and he organized a barbershop quartet 15 to 20 years ago.
Blessed with superb voice quality, Roger exemplifies excellence in choral music
harmony. His dedication and style
have enabled him to retain like minded musicians which results in a rich style
of music that is pleasing to the ear. Audience participation is a part of
his group's repertoire as is music with a story. Performing 10 to 15 times a year, the quartet enjoys
entertaining and audience reaction to its music.
Finally,
I would
like to personally thank Carl Blanchard, Pam Dooling, Ann Gibson, Joe Gibson,
Angela Glickstein, Bruce Holley, Matt Kolis, Dan Magaro, Whitney Mills, Pat
Pohl, Murial Prianti, Dave Rink, Greg Sohrweide, Dave Stever, Dorothy Storms,
Lillian Walsh, and Dottie White.
These are the people who agreed at least once but in many cases multiple
times to be part or all of a program over the last two years. I can’t tell
you how much I appreciate
your contribution to making us all better Rosarians.
See you
on January 12th!
Whitney Mills (Program Chair)
